Baking Instructions for Wholly Wholesome™ Bake at Home Fruit Pies

Wholly Wholesome™ Bake at Home Blueberry Pie

Keep frozen until ready to bake

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

  2. Place pie on aluminum foil covered cookie sheet.

  3. Optional: For a robust crust color brush pie with a small amount of water or well-beaten egg, then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar or granulated evaporated cane juice.

  4. Place pie on center rack in oven.

  5. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes, then turn down oven temperature to 375 degrees.

  6. Rotate pie in oven (turn so that the side facing the back is now facing the front). Bake for an additional 30 - 40 minutes. Pie is ready when crust is golden brown or if you notice the filling starting to bubble out. (Note: Ovens may vary, adjust time and temperatures as necessary.)

  7. Using oven mitts, carefully remove baked pie from the oven on the cookie sheet. Be careful not to handle the pie by the edge of the pie tin.

Pie may be served warm after 30 minutes or cool after 2 hours. If serving warm please use caution as filling may be hot.

  1. Preheat oven - see chart below for recommendations.

  2. Remove pies from freezer. DO NOT THAW FOR MORE THAN 15 min PRIOR TO BAKING.

  3. Pan our 6 pies on a paper lined baking tray (same directions apply to single pie baking).

  4. Wash crust as follows:

For a Vegan Crust use a sugar wash of 4oz boiling water to 12oz of sugar. Brush on crust immediately before placing in the oven.

Alternatively, you can brush the crust with water and sprinkle granulated sugar over the pie.

For a non-Vegan crust, brush with a small amount of well-beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

  5. Place pies in oven - ensure pies have not thawed; they are best baked shortly after removing from the freezer.

  6. Bake for 40 - 50 minutes.

  7. Pies must cool completely before packaging. A minimum of 90 minutes is recommended. Packaging warm pies will subject them to moisture condensation which may lead to mold prior to shelf life expiration.
