Ingredients:
1 traditional premade pie shell (9 inches) (Link in bio to order)
4 large egg yolks
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup freshly squeezed key lime juice (about 8-10 key limes)
1 tablespoon grated lime zest (optional)
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Lime slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks until they are well beaten.
Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk to the beaten egg yolks, whisking constantly. Mix until well combined.
Add the key lime juice to the mixture and whisk until smooth. If desired, add the grated lime zest for extra flavor.
Pour the filling into the premade pie shell, spreading it evenly.
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the filling is set and the edges are slightly golden.
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the pie to set completely.
Once chilled, you can serve the key lime pie as is, or garnish it with whipped cream and lime slices for a decorative touch.

Note: Key limes are typically smaller and more acidic than regular limes. If you can’t find key limes, you can substitute them with regular limes, but the taste will be slightly different.
